Residents of Sunnydale and Visitacion Valley worked for more than a decade on a community-led transformation plan. Now, residents and partners are working together to bring new homes, services, and amenities to Sunnydale.

A Place to Live

Construction has started on new housing at Sunnydale, including one-for-one, permanently affordable replacement homes for all of the older Sunnydale apartments that were built in the 1940s. When the plan is complete, Sunnydale will have 1,700 new homes for people of mixed income levels.

A Place to Play

Neighborhood residents have been clear about their priorities for Sunnydale: kids and families need more safe, supportive places to learn, play, and grow. Coming soon in 2024, Sunnydale and Visitacion Valley residents will be able to enjoy The Hub – a state-of-the-art community center offering new childcare facilities, after-school programming, neighborhood-serving gathering spaces, a kitchen, a recording studio, and classes for the whole community!
