The Hub is a vibrant community center in the heart of San Francisco’s Sunnydale neighborhood, operated by Mercy Housing California. Located along Sunnydale Avenue near Hahn Street, it was created as a place where people can come together to learn, play, grow, and build community.
Officially opened in October 2024, The Hub offers a rich mix of programs, resources, and amenities for Sunnydale and the broader Visitacion Valley community of more than 17,000 residents. The space features a Boys & Girls Clubhouse, a Wu Yee Children’s Services childcare center, a recording studio, a shared living room and community kitchen, a cozy reading nook, and multipurpose rooms for classes, events, and meetings.

Located just north of the Community Center will be a brand new Recreation Center with indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. Built in partnership with San Franciso Recreation and Park Department, the Herz Recreation Center will include 11,500 square feet of indoor space including a full-sized basketball court, bleachers, a multi-purpose room, and an outdoor fitness terrace. The development plan at Sunnydale includes a range of neighborhood-serving retail spaces, providing places to eat, shop, and meet daily needs. Plans include a neighborhood grocer, restaurant or café, and space for local entrepreneurs.
